Eastbourne Beer Festival Will Put a Hop in Punters Steps
27 September 2016
The biggest Beer Festival in East Sussex returns to Eastbourne’s Winter Garden from 6 October to 8 October featuring bottled beer all the way from Hawaii.
Alongside bottled beers, the Skull Splitter, Village Idiot and Blonde Witch are just a few of the quirky real ales making appearances over the fun-filled weekend. With wine, perry and cider available there is an alcoholic beverage for all, including Chaffords Hellishly Strong Cider and Thomas Sykes Old Ale at a staggering 10% ABV.
Guests have the choice of 160 real cask ales on tap, and can also travel around the International Bottled Beers bar sampling tipples all the way from Hawaii and Norway amongst other destinations. All of the sought-after real ales have been personally selected by local members of CAMRA, who are partnered with the festival.
The festival will also feature last year’s festival winning beers, including the well deserved 2015 winner “Prince of Denmark”. The non-Sussex winner “Jaipur IPA” and microbrewery winner “Zamzama IPA” will also make a return. The specially-brewed Harvey’s “Star of Eastbourne” is also making a comeback.
The weekend is packed with entertainment including a Pub Quiz on Saturday afternoon and two live music stages. The music will feature genres Rock and Pop to Country and Swing, with Wakin’ Snakes, Soul Xpress and Frankie Says amongst the lively performers.
Eastbourne Borough Council Lead Cabinet Member for Tourism and Enterprise, Cllr Margaret Bannister said “Eastbourne’s Beer Festival is a chance to recognise Sussex’s award-winning local brews as well as national and international producers. With our vineyards, microbreweries and quintessentially British pubs, it is no surprise that our locally brewed real ales and wine are winning awards.
The Beer Festival never fails to host a sensational weekend and with Friday being sold out, you must experience the superb range of beers and ales for yourself while tickets are still available!”
